Frequently Asked Questions

Yes.  Some riding experience is recommended.  But we cater to riders who have been out of the saddle for many years, or who have only had a few lessons.  Experienced riders will love the private, custom, genuine riding experience and challenging terrain, if requested.  Novices will love the quiet horses and gentle walks through beautiful scenery.  

You can choose the tack you are most comfortable in.  We use Endurance English  saddles or Western Saddles, generally, for longer rides.  We also have good quality English all purpose/event saddles. 

Like everything, keeping horses is expensive.  And when taking out only one rider, as opposed to a group of 20, prices need to reflect the private nature of the ride. Each ride is individual, and requires shipping to a destination of your choice.  This is a unique experience that is not available anywhere else in the Maritimes.  

Yes.  But not all destinations are available for this option.  There are two beautiful location in St. Ann's I can ride out from with couples or pairs.  

No.  Insurance requires a staff member to be present.  But even if it didn't, my horses are my pets and family members,  not a commodity.  Therefore, the trails, gaits, terrain and riders I expose them to are carefully selected to their personalities and best interests.  Sorry.

Some locations lend themselves beautifully to hikers and bikers.  If your spouse isn't a rider, or if you'd like to have only a short ride, one person could ride while the other bikes or hikes.  This allows you to travel the distance and enjoy the scenery, while giving your legs a stretch if you're not up to a full 2 hours in the saddle.
